“Guthega Alpine – great view but not great value”
This place has a stunning view of the snow (in snow season obviously – nowhere near as interesting during warm weather I would imagine), but they charge a great deal for this. Never before in my life have I paid $17 for a bowl of soup, and plain tomato at that. It was ok, but not memorable. $22 for spaghetti bolognaise that was average. They serve an excessive amount of alcohol, but don’t even do lemon, lime and bitters. Good luck getting a bottle of water! It has a lovely atmosphere, the staff seemed friendly enough, but if you’re travelling this far, do yourself a favour and take a packed lunch. It will be just as tasty and save you a fortune!
