Gold Rush Mini Golf

written by The Junior Nomads March 31, 2014

There’s mini golf and then there’s “Mini Golf” – Gold Rush Mini Golf is the latter. What’s the difference you ask? This place is a perfect example of how mini golf should be!

It’s a true theme park, where you don’t just step onto a green and try to find the hole at the other end. Every tee has character, and the surrounding themescape adds just as much to the game as the actual golf itself. One of the other issues we have come across in our travels is the lack of activities that are suitable in all weather situations. Luckily, Gold Rush Mini Golf have thought of that as well. After you’ve finished in the 18-hole outdoor course – which is set in 19th century Ballarat, complete with mine shafts, gold streams and weathered timber facades – or if the weather is too bad for you to even give it a go, head indoors to the Lost World. Wander through castle hallways, catch up with the local pirate and look out for the dinosaurs along the way!

This place is not just one but two worlds of fun in the one place. If you’ve worked up an appetite on the way, the cosy indoor café, complete with lounge and fireplace if you really want to “Leave the kids to it!”, is a perfect place to put your feet up and recover. There’s also outdoor seating and BBQ facilities if you’re on a budget and have packed a picnic lunch.

The park is set just 5 minutes outside of Ballarat, next door to the Woolshed, so if you want a full day out, park yourself here and have some fun!
