PARK ADMINISTRATION

Office Hours
8:30am – 5:00pm

After Hours Check-in
No

Checkout Time
10:00am

Admin Staff
Friendliness: Friendly
Responsiveness to complaints: We had no complaints.
Helpfulness: We had stayed here before so didn’t need tourist advice, information on the park layout or help setting up our site.

Cleaning Staff
We weren’t able to find any fixed, advertised cleaning times, but it appeared they were cleaned around 11:00am every day. If in doubt – if there’s a white golf buggy parked out the front, they’re being cleaned!

After Hours Manager
No

THE PARK

Park Size
372 powered tourist caravan sites (24 absolute waterfront)
29 un-powered tent sites – located right on the waterfront
9 Deluxe Villas – 6 x 2 bedroom, 3x 1 bedroom

Drive Through Sites
Most of the caravan sites are drive-through, which makes it great for short-term stays. It was clear that they tried to save the spots closest to the amenities for those short-term stays, so if you’re here long-term you don’t have to worry about people constantly walking past to visit the amenities. All the sites have concrete pads and concrete drive strips for your car, so if you need to park somewhere for a while to do any maintenance or the weather is looking like it might turn nasty, you’ll stay as clean as you possibly can here.

Landscaping
There is no gardening as such in the centre of the park due to the drive-through sites, however there are plenty of grassy spots that are kept mowed and tidy. Some of the outer sites are shaded by the pine trees.

Lighting
The park is not particularly bright at night. It’s enough to find your way to the bathroom but there aren’t any lights in the middle of the park guiding the way. As it is a smaller park the amenities are all in close walking distance of the sites though so lighting is not a major concern.

Outdoor Kitchen/BBQ
Behind the Reef Point Cafe at the entrance to the park there is a large covered relaxation area with BBQs.

Shower and Toilet Facilities
Adequate to cope with number of people: Yes
Proximity to sites: Close to all sites
Cost: $0.00
Cleanliness: Clean
Condition: Very good
Size: 4 showers and 4 toilets in men and women. The showers are the largest in size we’ve come across.
Water pressure: Good
Adequate hot water: Yes, never run out
Ventilation: Good
Disabled facilities: Yes
Access: No pin or key code required

Laundry
On-site laundry is available at a cost of $4.00 per load, with 3 washers and 3 dryers. Clotheslines are also available.

Fitness Activities
Swimming Pool – No
Tennis Court – No
Mini golf – No
Gym – No
The park is located on the point at Scarborough, right near a bay, so while the park itself doesn’t have facilities, there is plenty of opportunity for walking, swimming, kite and wind surfing, kayaking, etc.

Gates
There are security gates at the entrance and exit to the park. You will need a pass to swipe in and out, which you will get when you check-in and must return on check-out. There is no deposit required for this pass.

Child-friendly
Kids Club – No
Activities for Kids – No
If you’re looking for somewhere for kids, this is probably not the park for you, although there are beaches and playgrounds within walking distance.

Pets
Yes

ATMOSPHERE

Noise
As the park is reasonably small in size without kids club facilities or playground, most of the guests are older travellers. We never had an issue with noise at all.

Openness
The park has an open feel, with no trees other than those around the borders. Villas are located on the outer edges.

Shade
There is minimal shade except on those sites around the edges under the pine trees.

Permanents
There are a few permanents but they are situated towards the back and don’t detract from the look of the park.

Fires
No

SUITABILITY
We found the park suitable for short or long-term stays, but not so much suited to families with young children.

LOCATION

Road Conditions
Bitumen all the way. No access issues.
