Great value for money – thoroughly enjoyed the trip!
THE JOURNEY
Starting right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, the boat travels down the Nerang River past Chevron Island, Cronin Island and Paradise Waters out to the Broadwater – past the Southport Yacht Club, Mariners Cove, Marina Mirage and Palazzo Versace – before ending at the marina near SeaWorld and making the return journey home. Along the way, the staff will give you commentary on some of the major sights as well as some interesting insights into who has bought waterfront property along the way. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot some dolphins during the trip, but otherwise just sit back and enjoy the witty commentary and beautiful relaxing cruise.
OUR EXPERIENCE
We thoroughly enjoyed the entire cruise and felt it was exceptionally good value for money. It was calm and relaxing, and not the sort of attraction that invites kids running around everywhere, so those that were there were very quiet and well behaved. The closed in area underneath is perfect for those who want to stay out of the sun or still want to experience the cruise in not-so-fine weather, but the top deck was our preference, open to the elements and easier to see the sights. The commentary was insightful and witty, with tidbits that we didn’t know about the Gold Coast and thoroughly enjoyed hearing about. In our travels we have realised how good it is to see things from a different perspective, and experience the coast by something other than road travel was really lovely. Depending on type of cruise you go on, the food provided will vary from cakes and biscuits at morning tea, to a buffet lunch with cold meat, salads and bread rolls. Free tea, coffee, biscuits and cake was served during our journey, and we were encouraged to eat as much as we liked. Sunset cruises include a platter of prawns and beer/wine/champagne for the duration of the cruise. Soft drinks and juices could also be purchased for a very reasonable $3.00. All in all, even if it was the same route, we would likely go on the same cruise again and would definitely recommend it for visitors or locals alike.
